Innovation is everywhere. In 2007, we began podcasting and interviewing technology experts and innovators. In 2010, we rolled out our online magazine Techistan and social video Muntwo. We are media partner for hundreds of Earth's favorite empowering events. We hope you enjoy listening to our conversations here on DIDX podcasts.

About us: Super Technologies, Inc. was a dotcom startup in 1999 ... providing voice over dialup Internet services and Virtual Phone Lines (a service that enables people and organizations to have a local presence in any of up to 60 countries and be a local call to their VIP) via direct inward dialing and SIP.

In 2005, we started DIDX, enabling 10 telecoms to buy and/or sell phone numbers wholesale. By 2011, we now serve 18,000 wholesale IP communications companies on DIDX.

Ali Hassan Interviews Sergio Fogel Local Presence Entrepreneur Part 1

  • Sergio Fogel of Uniotel shares an inspiring story of entrepreneurship where something as small as "the DID or the phone number" has made him very successful in IP communications: technical graduate studies in Israel, work with IBM, switch to new graduate studies in business, a move to non-Arab areas, work with an Oracle company, to JetNumbers.

The typical quandary of every IP communications or technology entrepreneur is ...

    A. Do you start a new service, spend tons of effort, man-house, and money testing it and integrating billing, CRM and other needed facets and then make a public announcement, come buy and use!!

    B. Or do you roll out your new idea in alpha form to test the market? This way you don't risk time and money, but you do face frustrated users who always expect even an alpha service to be perfect.

Ali and Sergio explain different ways that organizations and individuals use virtual phone numbers such as providing customer support in an outsourced area because of the more qualified human resources and lower costs. A virtual phone number from a more economically advanced Spanish-speaking country to a Mexican call center will save money, offer higher than normal salary to Mexican customer service representives employed, and get the job done... good customer service in Spanish or English at the lowest cost possible.

All from a tiny powerful item: a virtual phone number!

Sergio shares another issue in IP communications business history... the devices that were normally needed. So Sergio's team said, "Let's provide a product that's 100% sold as a service and doesn't have anything else with it, no device that customers tend to not understand and there are so many NAT and firewall issues?"
